The first four weeks have flown by, and we’re already deep into the rhythm of the school year! There’s been a lot of excitement in Jaguar Country as classes, sports, clubs, events, and activities ramp up.
Today, Volleyball, Soccer, Cross Country, and Football are hitting the road, and the Jaguar spirit is shining bright! We know our athletes will play hard, have fun, and represent Sigonella with pride.
As we navigate the first quarter, here are a few important reminders for our students:
Cell Phone Usage: Our Jaguars are doing a great job following the new cell phone policy—thank you! However, we’ve noticed an increase in phone use during seminar, especially among high school students. Just a reminder: Cell phones are not allowed during class time, including seminar. Students may use phones between classes, before and after school, and during lunch. For students who continue to struggle with this policy, administration will schedule parent meetings to find solutions.
Dress Code Sigonella MHS follows DoDEA’s Dress Code policy. We know the weather still feels like summer, but it’s important that we all do our part to follow school guidelines. Teachers will enforce the dress code and notify administrators as needed. Please take a moment to review the policy here: https://www.dodea.edu/education/education-policy-and-operations/dodea-school-dress-code-effective-school
Aspen: Don’t forget—parents can log in to Aspen to monitor their student’s academic progress. Making Aspen checks part of your family routine can spark conversations, solve problems, and open doors to new possibilities. We’re partners in your child’s success, and Aspen is a great tool to strengthen the home-school connection. If you haven’t logged in this year, let us know and we can help! https://dodeasis.myfollett.com/aspen/logon.do
Let’s keep the momentum going, Jaguars!
Sigonella Middle High School is excited to offer a growing number of extracurricular activities specifically for our middle school students. In addition to existing opportunities like the Junior Leadership Seminar, Ceramics Club, Student to Student, Robotics Club, Marksmanship, and National Junior Honor Society, we’ve recently added a Middle School Student Council, Game Club, and Spanish Club. Middle school students also have limited participation, non-traveling opportunities in our athletics program, including wrestling, track and field, and cross-country. Now is the perfect time to explore your interests, make new friends, and get involved!
